Silent Hill photoshoot

May 21st, 2009 by Pippa

Incredibly creepy, but all I can really say is “Wow!” Photographer Judith Stephens presents us with a frightening, creepy, totally amazing Silent Hill photoshoot. Given my particular interest in game photography, and my love of the Silent Hill franchise (although the movie was awful, but I guess you can’t have it all…) this really blows me away. Read the news story on Kotaku. The full set is here on Flickr.

“Observation Platform” by Marcus Neustetter @ The Body Double Exhibition

May 21st, 2009 by christo

A delicate balsa wood construction by Marcus Neustetter -  one of the more striking pieces on display at The Body Double exhibition at the FADA Gallery, University of Johannesburg.  It clearly echoes the artist’s preoccupation with astronomy and the analytic gaze and provides a rather different take on the subtitle of the exhibition: "being in space".  The exhibition, curated by Mail and Guardian art critic Anthea Buys, also features works by David Andrew, Bronwyn Lace, Alex Opper, Nina Barnett, Larato Shado, Johan Thom and others.  It runs until 21 June.
